Honda’s automobile identity centers on a wide capital H inside a rounded frame. The badge is distinct from the wing used by Honda motorcycles, helping the company organize very different mobility businesses.
Chrome, depth, framing, and letter width changed across vehicle generations, but the broad H remained stable. A heavy red wordmark reinforced the company name in advertising and dealerships.
In 2024 Honda announced an emblem for its next generation of electric vehicles. The outer frame disappeared and the letter opened outward, recalling early Honda automobile marks while suggesting two outstretched hands.
Compare Honda’s heritage-led simplification with Renault and Citroën, which also revived earlier geometry for electric and digital contexts.
