Nokia unveiled this geometric identity with its February 2023 strategy announcement.
Nokia’s earlier wordmark uses solid uppercase lettering with a broad, steady rhythm. It became familiar to many people through mobile phones, but the company’s activities extend into telecommunications infrastructure. That difference is central to understanding its later brand update.
In February 2023 Nokia introduced a redesigned logo as part of its positioning as a business-to-business technology company. The new drawing removes portions of several letters and asks the viewer to complete the forms. Its lighter construction differs sharply from the older solid wordmark.
The 2023 announcement concerns Nokia’s corporate brand. Older lettering may still appear on historical products and in licensed contexts, so its presence does not establish that the corporate redesign was reversed. The two images here document that visual contrast without treating every product application as a new era.
